The bright colours, diverse forms, interesting stories narrated through songs – Patachitra tradition of Bengal has it all to engage the primary and secondary level student to engage with the traditional art form. An one hour session by community artists in school campus would provide a first-hand experience of old age storytelling tradition to the students and connect them to their roots. Students would love to know about colour making from flowers and leaves. Artists have developed a range of games which help the younger ones to know about the tradition. You can plan a day tour to Pingla village (3 hours drive from Kolkata) for a group of students to make the experience more exciting.
