POT Maya 2017 witnessed every house of the community beautifully painted and decorated by their crafts which acted as galleries showcasing the art. 255 artists participated in the festival. On each day 1500-2000 people visited the Mela. A group of students (around 55) from Heritage School, Kolkata, visited the Mela with a notion of surveying the socio-economic upliftment of the artists through the traditional art form. Guests like Mr. Manas Bhunia, ex-minister of Irrigation & Waterways, Government of West Bengal, Dr. Soumen Mahapatra, Minister of Water Resources, Government of West Bengal, renowned TV series & film actor, Mr. Badsha Moitra visited the Mela.
